zequence takes on the problem of home network management

Cloud-based management of in-home devices, designed for carriers to boost customer care.

Multiple management platforms create a problem…

zequence is a cloud-based company that wants to solve the issue of how carriers can offer their customers better in-home experiences. Its CONTROL solution helps carriers to manage and understand the performance of CPE, from WiFi routers to set top boxes. At the moment, with so many different devices all designed to the proprietary management protocol of their vendors, carriers face problems understanding the in-home environment.

… that zequence looks to solve with its Device Management Platform

zequence uses a standard management protocol (TR-069) to interface to the customer router, and from there discover what devices are connected and what performance is being delivered. zequence has taken data mode from a whole range of different devices ad presents them in a standard way in its customisable portal GUI.

Data from a huge range of devices, available to consume in a standard model.

Carriers can set automated rules to take action to improve performance, such as WiFi channel selection, and can also use it as a tool for customer service operations. By understanding what devices are connecting and what quality of experience customers are experiencing, the carrier can be proactive in making a service offer.

A remote diagnostics test can be an engineer.

Customer care agents and, if need be, NOC engineers can instruct the CPE to carry out speed tests and report faults, and carry out remote diagnostics. And the platform data can be consumed via an API by third party orchestrators and network management systems.

Freddy Turriat, Sales Director, said that the platform is based on AWS, serving customers in Latam. When the company signed a new customer in Africa, it simply spun up a new instance in AWS South Africa and it was away. “There’s no doubt we have a lower cost margin than legacy and rival players,” he said.

zequence offers carriers a means to manage in-home connectivity issues.
